By tackling this step early, you ensure you get the best professionals available for your special day. Here are a few vendors to prioritize:

Make sure to see an entire wedding they have shot. You don’t only want to see their favorites, you want to see entire wedding portfolios. Does their style match what you two want? Do you like them as people? You do spend much of your wedding day with photographers so you need to like them as people.

2. Videographer

If you want to relive your wedding day through film, a videographer is a must. They capture moments in motion, from your vows to the dance floor fun. Make sure to see other weddings they have shot and edited. This videographers and you need to be on the same page aesthetically. If you don’t like the style of their final products, you more than likely won’t like your wedding video. This is a worthwhile investment. I regret not hiring one!

Ask to see their portfolios and be clear with what you want. If you have a budget, be clear with the florist. YOU need to be realistic in what you want verses what you can afford. Flower have seasonal variances that affect prices but a good florist will help you navigate all these factors.

4. Food & Beverage (if not included with your venue)

Catering is a big part of the guest experience. If your venue doesn’t provide food and drinks, start researching caterers who align with your style and budget. Are you having a cocktail hour? Do you need desserts? Get quotes for the high-guest scenario (all your guests come). You will want to make sure your total includes any service fees and taxes.

5. DJ or Band

Music creates the energy of your wedding! Whether you prefer a live band or a DJ, book your entertainment early to ensure your celebration is unforgettable. Remember, looking at reviews and videos of their work is important. When the music and MC-ing doesn’t flow, it creates awkward moments that are unforgettable.

6. Day-Of Coordinator

A day-of coordinator is a lifesaver. They handle logistics and ensure everything runs smoothly, so you can enjoy your day stress-free. No matter how well you plan, things will go wrong on your wedding day. You need to hire someone you feel comfortable sharing personal issues, downloading all your wedding details, and how has your best interest in mind.
